Protestant Campus Ministry is seeking aplicants for the position of Campus Minister. See job description below.
PCM is seeking a campus minister (CM) to provide Christian witness to students, faculty and staff. As the executive director of PCM, the CM oversees ministries designed to enrich the university community through education, worship, fellowship, service and ecumenical outreach.
Education is the focus of BU and PCM. The CM fosters learning from experience as well as from Bible and related study; the gospel in action through worship; service and social justice; fellowship discovered in activities; and ecumenical outreach welcoming people from all backgrounds and promoting openness toward other faiths.
The CM encourages and mentors student leaders. The CM also empowers students' discovery of their gifts and callings, connecting them with opportunities to pursue those goals.
The CM provides pastoral counseling and spiritual care at BU; maintains a presence on campus that affirms the mission of PCM; and helps connect PCM and students with local churches.
The CM also oversees fundraising options and works with BU faculty, administration, and staff as well as the PCM Board, funding, denominations, local churches, and parents of students on emerging initiatives.
Qualifications:
The candidate must:
-Be an ordained minister with a master of divinity degree.
-Possess communication and computer/social media skills.
-Be self-motivated, exhibiting spiritual, moral and intellectual leadership with a clear commitment to sharing their faith within the frame of traditional, historic Christianity.
-Possess knowledge of and sensitivity to multiple religious traditions.
-Have experience working with youth and young adults.
Salary: $31,500 (This is a part-time position with a 9-month year at 30 hrs/wek.)
