Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania

Speaker Bio:

Biography: Matthew’s primary research interests include: Environmental Sociology, Masculinity, and Rural Sociology. He is actively chronicling how rapid development of the Marcellus Shale affects individuals, communities and the natural environment. Matthew’s dissertation research complements his community research background: he examines the lives of transient energy workers—the population often blamed for social disruption in communities developing their energy resources. During his free time, Matthew enjoys fly tying and fly fishing.
