Earth Day 2013

  1. Bloomsburg University Farmers Market Kickoff (Monday, April 22nd, behind Bakeless)
    • The Farmers Market will kickoff for the spring semester on Earth Day (8:30 am to 1 pm)
    • A cooking demonstration will be hgiven by local farmers (11:00 am)
    • John Jaramillo will give a presentation (1:00 pm)
  2. Other Earth Day Activities (Monday, April 22nd, behind the Student Service Center)
    • Tables with healthy food (10:00 am to 2:00 pm)
    • Free fair trade coffee from Aramark (10:00 am to 2:00 pm)
    • Green information will be distributed (10:00 am to 2:00 pm)
    • Tree seeds will be available (10:00 am to 2:00 pm)
    • A geocaching course will be set up on the quad (10:00 am to 2:00 pm)
  3. The Change (Monday, April 22nd, at the Moose Exchange in downtown Bloomsburg)
    • Working with dairy farmers in Bradford County who have witnessed firsthand the impacts of the gas boom on their land, their livelihoods, and their communities, discuss their experiences (7:00 pm)
  4. Earth Days (Tuesday, April 23rd, at the Moose Exchange in downtown Bloomsburg)
    • PBS documentary traces the origins of Earth Day and the Environmental Movement from its first stirring in the 1950s, through the era punctuated by Rachel Carson's "Silent Spring" in the 1960s and the creation of Earth Day in the 1970s (7:00 pm)
  5. Starbucks Demonstration (Tuesday, April 23rd, at Starbucks in the Scranton Commons)
    • Starbucks will give a demonstration on fair trade and sustainable practices, including taste testing of coffees (2:00 pm)

    Tables for the Thursday outdoor celebration are available for you and your group.
