Biography: Mr. Pine is Chief of the Well Plugging and Subsurface Activities Division for the Department of Environmental Protection’s Office of Oil and Gas Management. He has worked for the Department for over 32 years. Prior to coming to the Oil and Gas Program, he was the senior hydrogeologist for the Municipal and Residual Waste Program in the Department’s Bureau of Waste Management. He also was the senior hydrogeologist during the implementation and management of the Commonwealth’s Hazardous Sites Cleanup Program and the Land Recycling Program. He earned his B.S. in Geology in 1977 from the Pennsylvania State University, and has completed post-graduate work in hydrogeology, aqueous geochemistry and engineering geology at Millersville University. He earned his Professional Geologist’s license in 1994.
Biography: Mr. Pelepko is a Licensed Professional Geologist working in the Well Plugging and Subsurface Activities Division for the Department of Environmental Protection’s Office of Oil and Gas Management. He has worked for the Department as a geologist and in other capacities for nearly 5 years during two separate periods of employment. Prior to coming to the Office of Oil and Gas Management, he was employed as a Petrographer for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Materials Testing Lab where he was responsible for evaluating construction aggregate and Portland cement concrete test specimens. Mr. Pelepko also worked for two years as a consulting hydrogeologist. He received a B.S. in Earth Sciences in 1998 from the Pennsylvania State University, and is currently pursuing his M.S. in Geological Sciences at the University of Delaware, where he is researching carbonate facies control on construction aggregate skid resistance. He earned his Professional Geologist’s license in 2004.
